CHILDREN OF AFRICA VOLUNTEERS ASSOCIATION

Where

Children of Africa, up to this moment, has been working in four different villages in the Souht-east of Kenya: Likoni, Lutsangani, Dzivani and Tsunza. In Likoni (at 2 Km from Mombasa), the association gave support to an orphanage with more than 50 kids; Tsunza, Lutsangani and Dzivani are rural villages located in Kinango district (among the five poorest districts in the country), where we centre our main projects currently.

 

How we do it

In order to achieve the objectives of the association, the volunteers of  Children of Africa organize activities such as:

  • Fund-raising dinners

  • Fund-raising concerts and parties

  • Photo expositions

  • Events for children entertainment

  • Second hand markets

  • Excursions and sports events

Who we are

Children of Africa is a non-profit organisation, with its registered tax office at 17 Narcís Soler Street, 17600 Figueres (Girona Province), Spain. Founded in February 2010, registered in Registre d’Entitats de Figueres with number 203 and in Registre d'Associacions de la Generalitat de Catalunya with number 41389. It is composed of volunteers who work hard to improve education,  healh and lifestandards of Kenyan rural villages. Our counterpart association in Kenya is CODAK (Community Development Aid Kinango).

 

What we do

Children of Africa is focused on childhood, as it is the weakest sector of society, but also because we believe in the main role that education plays in the development of any community. We also care about health, gender equality, professional training, economy, and self-autonomy.
